I walk by this rose
in front of the chapel
and then go back.
This bloom calls to me.
“I am here. See me.”
Survivor of the frost,
it reminds me that
life perseveres through
the toughest moments.
May we be that sign of life,
that hint of perseverance,
that affirmation of beauty
to those worn down
by worry, fear, or grief.
Lover of life,
creator, comforter,
we belong to you.
