This Holy Place

I have been content
to be here in the mountains.
Watching, walking, writing.

What a gift to get away,
to hold solitude.
To sleep and wake in
this holy place,
this cabin of memories.

I am not alone.
I am surrounded by the saints.

  1. This is lovely! Our family is heading to the mountains for a family reunion next week…you make me long for it!!

  2. Chills, Beth. When I think of being there while looking at your pictures and reading your words, I can almost smell the sage, the pine, the fireplace, the cinnamon in the kitchen; feel the heat of the sun as morning turns to afternoon; and the chill as it changes back again; see those stars as they blanket us in that glorious night sky; hear the owls that you and Jenni became so acquainted with. Thank you for the experience, Darlin’.
