I wrote the story "Davida Angelica Roared" in the early 90's. The story came to me almost as it is now. I considered it a gift from the universe. Davida has quietly been a part of my life and others' lives through these years. I didn't realize she was just waiting for me to get to a place where I could bring the story alive.
Three years ago, I started dreaming about illustrating the story. I took mixed media and painting classes at Art & Soul Nashville. I attended weekend classes and worked on the story board, tried new colors and techniques. After a couple of years of painting the scenes that I saw in my mind -- the grassy savannas, the blue skies, the sunsets, the moon against the night sky -- I began to compile the pages.
