Bless to Me Worship Series

I’m so excited! My book was the inspiration for a 7-week worship series available from my friend, Marcia McFee and the Worship Design Studio.

If you are a pastor or worship leader, I hope you’ll consider the “Bless to Me” series for your church or faith community. The series is offered as a part of a “worship design starter kit” from Worship Design Studio. Or if you are already a subscriber to Worship Design Studio, the series is included as a part of your subscription.

“Take a virtual pilgrimage to Ireland this summer with new Worship Design Studio series ‘Bless to Me,’ a joyful exploration of what it means to see blessings in the world around us every day inspired by Beth A. Richardson’s Celtic Blessing poems.” From the “Bless to Me” landing page.

Thanks, Marcia. I’m grateful!

A Prayer for St. Patrick’s Day

In name of the Creator,
In name of the Child,
In name of Spirit,
Three in One:

Creator cherish me,
Christ cherish me.
Spirit cherish me,
Three all-kindly.

God make me holy,
Christ make me holy.
Spirit make me holy.
Three all-holy.

Three aid my hope,
Three aid my love,
Three aid my eye,
And my knee from stumbling,
My knee from stumbling.

Morning Prayer

Christ, as a light
illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield
overshadow me.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.

– Northumbria Community Morning Prayer

This morning I am thinking about the coming release of my new book, Christ Beside Me, Christ Within Me: Celtic Blessings. The book (in print, ePub, and Kindle) is coming closer to the release date, I’ve completed video production for seven videos promoting the book, we are planning a virtual book launch on St. Patrick’s Day, and I’m in meetings about an online course featuring the content. (Sign up for email updates on the book, its release, and related events.)

I’m filled with gratitude for the chance to share my prayers and a little bit of my family’s story with you. The book started here in this blog and I’m grateful for you.

Blessings and peace to you.

Help Us Pick a Photo

IMG_1648

Jack came in to work with me last week so we could get a portrait made to use in Alive Now magazine and on the back cover of my new book. Tim the photographer used a squeaker to keep Jack’s attention. After the photo shoot, he went to his friend’s house to play while I worked. All around, it was a fun day!

We’d like your help in picking the photo to use. If you’ve got a few minutes, would you go vote? We’d really appreciate it. Vote by filling out this survey.

Thanks for your help!

Blessings,
Beth

The Book Cover

Recently I was invited to attend the Upper Room book department’s cover selection meeting. The committee is made up of the staff from the books, marketing, and production departments. The covers are evaluated and then a final cover is chosen.

I had asked for us to consider photographs by Nashville photographer Paul Schatzkin who has some amazing photographs from the U.K. We often use Paul’s images in Alive Now magazine.

I really like the final cover. Can’t wait until I see it in print. What do you think?

Christ Beside Me, Christ Within Me is a collection of blessings written in the Celtic style. The book will be published by Upper Room Books in early spring, 2016.
